Donald “DJ” Thompson

Donald “DJ” Thompson (Owner/operator) is a certified home inspector with training through AHIT and a member of InterINACHI. After attending many home inspections as a real estate agent, in 2014, DJ pivoted to join Metro Capitol Home Inspections.  In 2023, he took over day-to-day operations with growth in mind. DJ enjoys using the latest technology to serve his clients better.DJ has a love for all things mechanical and how things work. His “superpower” is his ability to explain how things work in a home to a captive audience of buyers, sellers, and agents among the thousands of inspections he’s performed in Washington, DC and Maryland.DJ is an Army veteran, and before his career in home inspection, he worked for UPS as an on-road supervisor and has flipped numerous homes in the Maryland area. DJ enjoys traveling, working on his car, and riding his bike during his free time.

Kevin Patience

Kevin Patience is the founder/inspector of Metro Capitol Home Inspection, founded in 2007. Through Kevin’s extensive training from AHIT (American Home Inspectors Training Institute) –recognized within the industry as the premiere institute for home inspection education, and his membership in InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors)–the world’s largest home inspection association, you can rest assured that your home inspection is done professionally and according to the highest level of industry standards.

Prior to founding Metro Capitol Home Inspection, Kevin served 10 years in the U.S. Army followed by a 21-year career with WSSC, the Washington, DC region’s water and sewer company. At WSSC, Kevin held various positions in the inspection department (Construction Inspector, Construction Contact Manager, and Construction Manager), so establishing Metro Capitol Home Inspection was a natural evolution to build upon his decades of experience in the inspection arena.

For over 15 years, Kevin has performed thousands of inspections in Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, shooting pool, and attending music events.
